Our Goal

Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality of care in a compassionate and safe environment. We want you to be completely comfortable, and we go to great efforts to ensure that these treatments are as painless as possible. In order to do this, we use the most current periodontal procedures, instruments, medications, and sterilization techniques.

We want you to be completely informed of your condition and encourage you to ask any questions you may have regarding your treatment and care. We use interactive visual displays to demonstrate different procedures, and we fully explain each treatment option. We will gladly answer any questions that you have regarding your treatment and care, and we will welcome the opportunity to address any concerns you may have.

Sterilization

We know that preventing the spread of infectious diseases such as AIDS, herpes, hepatitis and even the cold virus is critical and our team takes sterilization very seriously. We use extensive sterilization procedures, going well beyond the guidelines recommended by the American Dental Association and Centers for Disease Control.

We use barrier techniques such as disposable masks and gloves and we replace them with every new patient. Each piece of fixed operatory equipment is wiped-down with antibacterial solution prior to every clinical procedure. Sterile water delivery systems are utilized. We use autoclave sterilization for all instruments prior to dental examination and treatment. You can be assured that our staff has been specifically trained on sterilization procedures and their importance.

Patient Comfort

While no dental procedure is 100% comfortable, we go to great lengths to minimize any discomfort you might feel. We use some of the latest techniques to provide you with the most comfortable experience possible. To help make your experience pleasant, we offer headphones with a variety of music and DVD glasses that display a selection of movies.

Many of our patients comment after treatment that it was surprisingly comfortable with little after-procedure discomfort.

Pre-medication

Patient comfort is one of the most important aspects of care. Different patients have different needs for pain and anxiety control medication. Depending upon the procedure and your wishes, there are many medications we can prescribe.

Injections of Anesthesia

In the past, injections of dental anesthesia by others may have been uncomfortable. We recognize this and take extra care when preparing a patient for anesthetic. We use a topical ointment on your gums first, and then administer the injection very slowly and precisely to reduce the burning sensation that can be experienced. These techniques ensure our patients have minimal, if any, discomfort during this portion of care. We also use the newest anesthetics to give you the latest advances in the field.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is an odorless gas which makes you feel relaxed and at ease.  You will be awake and aware of your surroundings.  Nitrous oxide clears out of your system within minutes, so you can leave the office as aware as when you arrived.

IV Sedation

IV Sedation offers a deeper sedation where patients are essentially asleep and yet they retain their reflexes and the ability to breath on their own. When patients awake from the sedation, they will have little, if any, memory of what occurred during the appointment. This type of sedation requires advanced training, licensing, and monitoring, which Dr. Braun has obtained.

Special Equipment & Treatments

We strive to use only the latest and most advanced periodontal techniques. In order to do this, we take a great deal of continuing education. We also utilize advanced equipment in our office. This includes:

Digital Radiography, which allows us to more precisely diagnose and treat periodontal disease. It also allows us to more accurately measure available bone and place dental implants. This technology offers an immediate radiographic picture with approximately one half the radiation needed for conventional film radiographs.

Panoramic Radiography allows an excellent overall view of both jaws at one time. This enables structures like the maxillary sinus and inferior alveolar nerve to be seen in one x-ray.

Computerized Tomographic Software allows for the interaction and planning with Computerized Tomographic Scans (CT Scans). With this very accurate radiographic technique, dental implant placement can be planned to the millimeter.

Consult Pro patient education software which allows patients to actually see and understand what the therapy they will be having actually is. This software allows patients to make educated decisions in regards to their treatment.

In Conclusion

Every procedure is done with your comfort and safety in mind. We work closely with your general dentist to ensure you get the best possible care. Please feel free to ask questions before, during, or after any of these procedures.
